Improve Your Running Form and Pacing
Track interval workouts on a 1/4 mile track are essential for improving speed, turnover, running form and efficiency. Our track/speed workouts are designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced runners with varied workouts for each skill level.

Each workout includes a 1-mile pre-workout warm up (run on your own prior to workout start), coached bounding drills and an interval track or “speed play” workout.  Each workout consists of intervals that include 200m, 300m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1200m and 1600m repeats with active or standing recovery between each interval. Each workout lasts around 50 minutes and includes a total of 5K to 10K of total mileage.  Runners are highly encouraged to run an easy .5 to 1-mile cool down post workout.

Track workouts are also designed specifically for any fall or winter race and are included in our training schedules.  That way if a track workout is missed, a runner knows exactly what they need to do on their own.

Our track workouts are held at the Memorial Park track (across from tennis center) and the Heights High School track on 13th street in the Heights.  Workouts are held on alternating Tuesday evenings at 6:15 PM and run about 50 minutes.

  • Spring Season March – May  This 12 week, group training program welcomes runners of every skill level who are just learning the sport or training for distances from the 5K to the marathon.  Our spring program includes a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning group runs.  We also offer an occasional running workshop on running form & technique, interval training, stretching, strength training, nutrition and more.  Spring is also a great time to build a solid base so you can really go places with your running during the Summer, Fall & Winter months of training and racing.
  • Prime Season – June – February   This 38 week, group training program is our primary summer, fall and winter running season for Houston area runners.  With a similar format to our Spring Season, our Prime Season is three times as long as runners continue to train and build mileage to get race ready for Fall and Winter Marathons including the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Half Marathon in January.  We also support and provide training schedules for any race in the world right here in Houston including the Chicago Marathon, New York City Marathon, Washington DC Marine Corps Marathon, San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon/half, Woodlands Marathon/Half, Austin Marathon/Half and more.  You pick your races and we’ll get you ready to run a great race!
  • Year Pass Season – March – February 6 – Year Pass Season bundles our Spring and Prime Seasons together for an entire year of run coaching, training, group runs and support for our best value.
