Everyone can benefit from a running gait assessment.  At In Flight running we have done hundreds of them over the years.  All the runners we have assessed have had something they can work on to be a more efficient runner.

The first step of improving anything is being aware of what needs to be changed or modified. No one watches themselves run so seeing yourself on video with a coach explaining recommended changes can be a major eye opener.

A video gait analysis allows a runner to see what they normally do not see: a snapshot of their current gait, how they move in space and how they can improve it.

Here’s how it works:

First we shoot footage of you running from the 3 angles (side, front, and rear view).  Then we take that raw video, watch it, analyze it, make detailed notes of gait abnormalities and areas of improvement and create a summary video of what changes are needed to get closer to optimal gait and running form.

In the final assessment video, running form is broken down into details by telestrating where weaknesses lie.  This is done by highlighting areas of the body, drawing illustrations and angles and slowing down the video into a frame by frame breakdown when needed to show a runner exactly where they need to improve.  Our members and clients who have invested in this service see improvements almost immediately.  Many times improved gait helps runners get over nagging injuries like shin splints, achilles tendonitis, runners need etc.  The final assessment may also 

If you are in Houston we meet a local High School track to shoot the video.  If you live outside of Houston, we can give you instructions on how to shoot your own raw video from a smartphone and upload it to us for analysis.  When the assessment is complete we email you a link to download your final assessment video.
